SILDAP (Silingang Dapit sa Sidlakang Mindanao) Southeastern Mindanao, Inc. is an NGO based in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines, which has been working with indigenous peoples (lumads) of Southern Philippines since 1982. SILDAP believes that indigenous peoples have a rich culture, tradition and knowledge. However, this is hampered mainly by the non-recognition of the Government of their Ancestral Domain that has led to their marginalization. But this situation can be changed, and this can be made possible primarily through their own efforts, given proper opportunity and support from the various sectors of society.

In this context, SILDAP assumes the role of a lead agency that provides opportunities for and facilitates the process of increasing the capacity of the lumads in identifying and articulating their own development agenda and in evolving appropriate measures leading to the recognition of their Ancestral Domain and Self-Rule.
